“Gangga Island Resort & Spa is located in a remote, pristine environment, which has traditionally made it reliant on carbon-intensive diesel generators for its energy needs. In alignment with Lotus Hotels’ commitment to sustainable tourism, we took a significant step in 2019 by transitioning to a solar PV and battery system. Despite this upgrade, wear and tear, along with limitations in the existing infrastructure, often forced us to revert to our diesel generators, leading to operational disruptions and occasional inconveniences for our guests. Fortunately, NaviX Solutions provided the expertise needed to transform our energy infrastructure, addressing the critical issues we faced. Scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025, the results of this new upgrade will be remarkable: targeting to save over 100,000 liters of diesel annually, resulting in a reduction of carbon emissions by 262 tonnes each year. Once operational, Gangga Island Resort will be powered by 90% renewable energy, cementing its status as the most sustainable resort within the Lotus Hotels group and one of the leading green-energy resorts in the region.   1. What’s your role in your government agency?

    I am the infrastructure lead in my agency, heading the data center, network, compute, storage, database and cloud teams.

  2. How did your Agency maintain a continuous power supply prior to NaviX coming in, and what caused the shift?

    Our UPS for our network hub rooms were coming to the end of life and a replacement was required. We were looking for a fuss-free, one-stop-shop service with a supplier that would handle the supply/delivery/setup as well as the BAU operational monitoring and maintenance (repair or swap out of equipment) of these devices.

  3. What led you to choose our products/services?

    Partnering with Schneider Electric’s products as well as the monitoring capability through a central dashboard. The alerts highlighted through the dashboard have actually given some clarity to real-world situations in which we would not have known otherwise

  4. How have our products/services helped you achieve your goals, and create an impact on your business?

    Running the UPS as a service with NaviX helps us free our existing manpower to handle other IT jobs, knowing that the service is well taken care of by professionals who know the job. It helps to unburden the technical debt and makes it more CAPEX-lite.

  5. How was your experience working with our team?
    Good, the supply/delivery/setup has been fuss-free.

  6. What’s your view on NaviX’s Unified Digital Platform (UDP)?
    UDP has been an easy-to-use analytics tool for remote monitoring of my UPS assets. I am able to see an overview of the assets’ error logs, assets that are due for maintenance and many more.
